Announcing:
Grand opening of  Bloom Restaurant
"Because Love Overcomes One’s Misfortune"

For the past twenty years, ACWP’s motto has been helping “one child at a time”.    Founded in 1988, ACWP’s mission was to assist thousands of unaccompanied Vietnamese refugee minors who were displaced & detained in various refugee camps throughout Southeast Asia.

Our mission has since evolved to serve local orphaned and under-privileged children in the rural and remote areas of Central, Highland and South Vietnam.   Equally important, ACWP programs have also expanded into a wide range of services to meet the different needs of our young adults.

In May 2007, ACWP campaigned for capital to construct a vocational training facility and we were successful in raising $60K USDollars.
Now, we are excited to announce the launch of our newest vocational training program for our young adults– Bloom Restaurant–a training restaurant facility in Hue, Central Vietnam.

Construction of ACWP’s first training restaurant already began in late September 2007 with the projected grand opening date in Winter 2007.  Bloom Restaurant is located in Hue tourist area at 14 Nguyen Cong Tru.  Bloom Restaurant was the grand step after a successful pilot collaboration between Hoa Sua in Hanoi and ACWP for construction of a lodging facility and admission scholarships.
As a result of the successful partnership with Hoa Sua in Hanoi, many of the ACWP-sponsored students have graduated from Hoa Sua with culinary arts and/or hospitality degrees. The training restaurant was proven to be a safe and nurturing environment for these youths to gain hands-on experience in hospitality services and management.  These young adults practiced their culinary arts and skills while generating sustaining income for the restaurant’s operation.

Bloom Restaurant in Hue will be modeled and managed by ACWP-sponsored graduates from Hoa Sua in Hanoi.   Additional staffing are selected students, based on criteria that designate them as “disadvantaged” young adults.  These students are primarily in the equivalent age of high school juniors and seniors (from 17 to 19 years old).   Our local ACWP Program Leader will review all students’ applications and conduct thorough interviews to determine suitability to the program.  In addition, Hoa Sua Training Restaurant will continue its partnership with ACWP by providing leadership in hospitality services, operations and management training.

Foodies will be glad to hear that Bloom Restaurant will feature regional Vietnamese and European cuisine with an American flair.   What a way to be mindful and enjoy your food while also knowing that you are supporting a disadvantaged youth in becoming a self-sufficient adult.
“We’re very excited of Bloom Restaurant and invite the ACWP family and international community to try our new training restaurant,” said Benjamin Lee, ACWP’s Chairman.  “The Bloom Restaurant will make its debut as the first ACWP training restaurant which we hope, will be ACWP’s signature training program throughout other cities in Vietnam.  Our plan for the new training restaurant is to create a supportive, fast-paced learning environment while providing scholarships for disadvantaged youths or teaching opportunities for graduates.  The training restaurant will provide many opportunities for these youths to break the cycle of poverty.   Bloom Restaurant was a dream that came true for ACWP, Inc. – thank you for believing in ACWP.”
